Here we are, cooking dinner and watching the river rise. This photo was taken in a downpour - if you look along the bottom, you can see the rivulets running over the soil , which was permeable sand and gravel. We all went to sleep that night listening to the rain and thinking, "what have we gotten ourselves into?"
