Here's Craig packing up in the garage. We have a light flatbed trailer that we haul. We calculated all our travel costs: flying a family of four and renting gear; ferry up with trailer; or drive up. Driving up and camping was a great excuse to see British Columbia and the Yukon up close.
Our total gas costs were $580 US in August of 2000.
