The scorpion is a well-rounded gun, combining ease of use, dependability, accuracy, good looks, and price in one package quite effectively. I've used mine a number of times now, and I have yet to be disappointed in it's performance.
The last couple times I used it, I only had three ball breaks, all of them occurring in one day. This, however, was due to the fact that i was using BE paint, and one of the balls had broken in the carrying bag. It slipped my attention, and so I kept using the paint, wondering why it kept crapping out on me. With Powerball, the marker seemed very happy, shooting without breaks, and very accurately as well. Proball provided about the same performance, sans just a tad of the accuracy. I have yet to test any other brands of paint.
Accuracy is about as good as can be expected with a stock barrel and gun. From about 50 feet, I can hit a 3-4 inch wide target 90% of the time free hand. I have never tested the marker with a rest, since I never have an opportunity for that type of shot in the field.
The balance of the gun is good, and it's not so heavy that at the end of the day my arms are tired from carrying it around. On the other hand, it's not so light that recoil spoils the aim. It's about medium weight, and feels very good in the hand.
I currently use a screw-in stock and run my Scorpion remote. Since I'm used to real firearms, and how I shoulder one of those weapons, it seemed like a good idea for me to use this type of setup. Shouldering my Scorpion is a little more intuitive for me this way, and I'm able to hold it fairly steady.
The only problem I've had with the marker to date is with velocity adjustment. When I first got the Scorpion, I had a heck of a time trying to get it to shoot consistently under 300fps. The spring that came in the gun from the factory was simply too tight. One of the local paintball shops (Bitterroot Cutlery) was kind enough to give me a new spring that is considerably more loose and a tad shorter, and I haven't had a problem since.
Over-all, the Scorpion is a great beginner to moderate players gun. It's easy to use, and fairly accurate, and very reliable right out of the box. I would have to rate it 8/10.
