Ah, fishing! One of the few ways to spend your time looking at the sky, thinking about nothing, drink beer (or whatever), and still say that you are participating in a sport. Now what self-respecting man wouldn't like that?
I've tried a good number of the variations of fishing during my life. I've fished streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, the ocean (thank God for Dramamine), fly-fished, bait casting, trolling, you name it. I've even chummed before, but considering the fact that it was due to being out on the ocean without Dramamine, I'm sure that I'll be forgiven.
There are a few places in North Idaho that I consider "top notch" fishing spots. Some most of the population up here knows about; some most of the population would sneer at. But, I've caught fish out of all of them, and in some of the worst looking holes, I've caught the biggest fish.
Locations I like to fish:
Little North Fork of the Coeur d'Alene River - Trout
Hauser Lake - Shore for pirch, bass, and sunfish; trolling for trout
Hauser Creek (sure laugh all you want) - Main portion of the stream for trout, in the pool on the south side of Prairie for bass.
Spokane River - 200 yards or so above the dam on the south side for monster pirch.
