James Daniel Sims
and
Lucy Ellen Tobey

My father's father was James Daniel Sims.

My father's mother was Lucy Ellen (Tobey) Sims.

My mother's father was Reverend Will H. Lynn, of Quanah, Texas. Reverend Lynn was a well respected Evangelist in the 1920's. Several of his peers wrote the following references:
- This is to certify that I have known Rev. Will H. Lynn for a number of years, and consider him a safe, sane, yet fiery evangelist, full of zeal and good judgment. He will do any church good service. Open your door and invite him.
C.B. Jernigan, D.D.
Superintendent, Tennessee District
- To Whom it May Concern:
We take this method of gladly endorsing and recommending Rev. Will. H. Lynn of Quanah, Texas, as a good, clean man, and excellent preacher, a fine expositor of the Word of God. A safe and sane man, and is well qualified to pastor any church, or hold revival meetings anywhere. He is now available for pastoral work, or evangelistic calls.
You will make no mistake in calling him, he will do you good work.
In His glad service,
H.C. Cagle, Dist. Supt.
- Hollis, Okla., Sept. 10, 1927
To Whom It May Concern:
Bro. W. H. Lynn has just held a 15-days' meeting for us at Brownlow. I want to recommend him highly as an Evangelist, and especially a church builder. He surely does draw the people to their pastor. Any one in need of an Evangelist, can't beat this dear man.
Willie Snow, Pastor

My mother's mother was Parthany Jane "Janie" Barnhill.
